NIAGARA FALLS – Bell Canada today announced the expansion of its Wireless Home Internet broadband service to communities and rural areas in the Regional Municipality of Niagara.
Eligible households in and outside of Fort Erie, Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Pelham, St. Catharines, Thorold, Wainfleet, Welland and West Lincoln, can gain access to Bell’s high-speed fixed wireless solution. It will soon be expanded to Port Colborne as well.
“Bell is proud to expand fast, reliable and affordable Internet service to communities of all sizes throughout the Niagara Peninsula” said Rizwan Jamal, president of Bell Residential and Small Business, in the company’s press release.
Wireless Home Internet is delivered over Bell’s advanced LTE wireless network in the 3500 MHz spectrum band, which is 5G-capable technology and is designed to extend broadband Internet access to smaller towns, rural locations and other underserved communities.
The wireless solution sees Bell technicians place a small antenna outside a customer’s home that connects to the Bell LTE network and customers also receive the Bell Home Hub modem to provide Wi-Fi throughout the home.
