Bell’s acquisition of AlarmForce Industries

To:
All Bell team members

Hello everyone,
The connected home is quickly becoming a major frontier in broadband innovation and growth. Today, Bell took a significant step forward in the sector by announcing our acquisition of AlarmForce Industries.
AlarmForce is an established and well-known brand in security and home automation across Canada. Acquiring the company enables us to quickly enter the connected home marketplace in the Québec and Ontario markets, while accelerating our existing security and monitoring services in Atlantic Canada and Manitoba.
Driving connected home innovation is a natural next step for Bell. We’re a company trusted by more Canadians than any other to provide the crucial communications services they want and need in their homes. We have the networks, customer service and distribution strength to quickly compete in the marketplace, and the focus on service quality and innovation to lead the way into the future.
The connected home brings together interconnected devices, services and apps for security, monitoring and automation, media and entertainment, energy management, and healthcare – putting consumers in complete control of their home’s communications and technology ecosystem. New devices and network capabilities are making the connected home a reality, and Bell has taken an early lead in the Internet of Things networks and partnerships that are enabling connected homes, businesses and smart cities.
Bell currently competes in the home and business security market in Manitoba with AAA Security, a Bell MTS company, and in the Atlantic provinces with Bell Aliant NextGen Home Security. Joining with AlarmForce, the second-largest home security competitor in Canada, gains us more than 100,000 subscribers and AlarmForce’s technology in security and smoke, flood and carbon monoxide detection; lighting, climate and locking control systems; and medical alerting systems.
For now, it’s business as usual for Bell and for AlarmForce as we look forward to closing the transaction in January 2018. For more details, please see the BCE news release just issued and visit the AlarmForce website to learn more about the company.
